Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic
This villa compound was designed as a weekend retreat for a local Dominican family. Their desire was to have an open-air house with a graceful island sensibility. The living spaces can be fully opened to the outside and are all connected by a covered outdoor gallery surrounding a lushly landscaped courtyard with swimming pool and water features. The modern plan and state of the art amenities are balanced by references to traditional island forms, colors and textures. The design incorporates local materials, custom lighting, custom millwork and custom furniture. The plan takes careful advantage of the prevailing breezes and a unique golf course setting with wide open views to the ocean.
